Baleens Hotel - Hermanus

It was our most relaxing weekend ever. Nato and Julia thanks for your warm and loving welcoming. You guys really made us feel comfortable and at home. Oh did I enjoy the fireplace in the lounge not to mention the viewing from the bedroom too beautiful. Deffinately visiting again soon. Regards, Anthony & Angeline.

We took the 2nd last available room and it may not applicable to other sectors of the guest house,but the room was not very soundproof and other guests were very noisy when entering or leaving the building by that passage

Excellent value for money, lovely room with semi-private deck - this made all the difference. comfortable bed, good breakfast - value for money!

For overnight stay it was suitable, not in town so quiet.

Rooms were basic, no tea/coffee facility in room

The location was absolutely perfect and our room was comfortable and clean. We would definitely return.

I do think that while the bathrooms were exceptionally clean they could be upgraded and my spouse would have preferred a slightly larger television with dstv in the bedroom however this won't impact our decision to return as Baleens really is value for money.

No attention to detail, no bath mats etc. Rooms could have been cleaner.

The web site does not have a direct view of the hotel so we did not know what to expect. The hotel looks very dull from the outside but is in fact totally charming. The hotel is managed by the owner and he was a great help to plan out holiday even though we were only staying 1 night

Beautifully situated overlooking beach and ocean. Owner extremely helpfull with local knowledge.

Hotel more basic than expected, only heating available on cold evenings was portable electric fire. Breakfast limited in choice and quantity.

Excellent customer service, we had a twin booked and were given two rooms for the same price. Great on local knowledge. You need a car, as it is a way from the centre.

The owners were very welcoming and very helpful in providing informtion about local attractions and tour spots down the road.

It was under renovation, but that was quite unobtrusive.

Family atmosphere in countryside guest house. Very close to Hermanus and good value for the money.

Very disappointing- I asked for facilities to accommodate my very tall and broad husband & was assured. Bathroom was tiny, towels were not changed- flung over the shower glass carelessly & still wet by nightfall-no soap provided, no coffee making facilities in room-must go in pyjamas in morning to communal kitchen, where still there is no milk, coffee, tea, sugar- must provide own or troop downstairs to kitchen-still no milk, even though I requested it from manager on first night.Only tv working was downstairs. No hairdryers. Generally noisy and uncomfortable with the same oily fried breakfast each day.We will not return
